TOMRA Sorting Solutions Food is to demonstrate two of its sensor-based sorting solutions at this year’s Almond Conference 2015 at the Sacramento Convention Center, California, December 8-10.
Almond growers and processors who visit TOMRA at Booth 433 will be able to discover more about the company’s Nimbus BSI free-fall sorting machine and the Ixus™ Bulk x-ray sorting machine. TOMRA has a booth together with M Parise & Associates.
TOMRA’s Nimbus BSI, featuring Biometric Signature Identification (BSI), won the 2015 Innovation Award at the World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress. It combines the efficiency of laser detection with the BSI module which is able to identify the unique fingerprints of unwanted material.
The Ixus Bulk sorter scans products in bulk to detect dangerous foreign materials - including metal, glass and small rocks - and can be used at the beginning or end of line to enhance product safety.
Commenting on the exhibition, Karel Strubbe, TOMRA’s sales director for Americas and Oceania, says: “The Nimbus and Ixus are powerful machines able to detect and remove a wide variety of foreign materials and defects. We are looking forward to showcasing the two machines which work in different ways, for the same application.
