TOMRA’s advanced sorting machines inspect millions of individual product pieces per hour, typically recovering five to ten percent higher yields while providing superior utilization or resources.
That’s equivalent to approximately 25,000 trucks worth of potatoes per year!
TOMRA Food has introduced the TOMRA QV-P, an in-line detector for identifying chicken wooden breast - a condition that affects broiler chickens, making the meat hard and chewy.
TOMRA's QV-P analyzer can detect wooden breasts in chicken fillets.
Utilizing established, patented technology, TOMRA has expanded the range of applications for its offering in the meat and poultry sector. The TOMRA QV-P is the world's first in-line detection machine for identifying wooden breasts in chicken fillets and butterflies and allows processors to grade chicken fillets against specific criteria accurately.
The unique solution, which uses multispectral lights to allow the chicken fillets' high-speed analysis.
The dedicated software allows the TOMRA QV-P to accurately grade chicken fillets into multiple grades, determined by the customer, on the severity of wooden breast in the fillet or butterfly. Previously, processors had to manually review each chicken fillet before processing what was called a 'thumb check'. With TOMRA's new in-line analyzer, these time-consuming, labor-intensive, manual checks are no longer needed.
TOMRA's QV-P in-line analyzer can reliably detect the muscle myopathy in single chicken fillets or butterflies, allowing for removal of wooden breast fillets from the processing line to ensure consistent end-user quality.
TOMRA Food has a range of analysis equipment available for the food industry, specifically targeting French Fries, peeled potatoes, and small trim, diced, and ground meat. TOMRA Food offers three types of machines for in-line food analysis and process control.
