The pioneering technology and standard-setting capabilities of TOMRA’s new sensor-based sorting machine have been recognized by a top industrial award in China.

TOMRA Sorting Recycling’s new AUTOSORT LASER sorting machine has won a Ringier Technology Innovation Award, one of the most prestigious industrial accolades in China. At the award-giving ceremony in Shanghai last month, AUTOSORT LASER was named as the only winner of the Recycling Machinery category.

AUTOSORT LASER adopts pioneering laser, electromagnetic and near-infrared technologies to enable the separation of glass, ceramics, stones, porcelain, metals and plastics from household and commercial waste. These capabilities further fractionalize waste and reduce overall weight for landfill, significantly reducing landfill costs.

The Ringier Technology Innovation Awards for industrial manufacturing, inaugurated by Ringier Trade Media in 2006, reward a selected group of innovators each year in a number of pillar industries in China.
