Role Description:


At the nexus of hardware and algorithm development, the multi-disciplinary System Team specialises in developing, integrating and validating the optical, electronic, and classification elements of Tomra’s prototype sorting solutions.


As part of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing, integrating, and validating System technologies

  • Designing experiments to benchmark and troubleshoot System technologies

  • Collaborating with software and engineering teams in prototype development

  • Collate and analyse data to optimise System technologies

  • Rapidly troubleshooting and solving technical issues on prototype machines

As part of the System team you will work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. Each day will present a new opportunity to tackle a variety of challenges bridging a wide-range of exciting disciplines (optics, automation, spectroscopy, multivariate analysis and machine learning). This broad scope of this role will give you the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of real time solutions and long-range R&D projects.


What you can offer us:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering / Science

  • Knowledgeable in one or more of the following disciplines:

    • automation, vision systems, optics, or spectroscopy

  • Experienced in basic programming or modelling tools (Python/MatLAB)

  • Lateral thinker, problem solver, innovator

  • Scientific mindset/methodology (design of experiments)

  • Good communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written)

  • Passionate about continuous development

  • Team worker - at ease in high-performance multidisciplinary teams

Open to travel to validate prototypes on site (domestic & international)
