Position Overview

Our US operation has an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Administrator/Staff Accountant located in Englewood, CO. This person will be the primary payroll processor for a multi-state organization and will be responsible for ad hoc reporting, budgeting and reporting.

Roles and Responsibilities

Payroll Duties

  • Process both regular payroll and special payroll runs as necessary to meet business needs
  • Process biweekly payroll utilizing the automated payroll system, including reconciliation prior to transmission and resolving discrepancies, in a timely manner
  • Assist as needed with troubleshooting and/or fine-tuning the recent implementation of new payroll system and timekeeping software
  • Generate a variety of weekly, semi-monthly, monthly and quarterly reports and prepare reconciliations for Accounting/Finance.
  • Work with our payroll provider to ensure all state, federal and local taxes are paid and filed in a timely manner
  • Compile payroll data such as hours worked, time off requests, paid time off accruals, pay rate changes, benefit enrollments, commission and bonus payments
  • Perform calculations for all garnishments and support orders
  • Work with HR on monthly audit of benefit bills and documentation of discrepancies
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for managers, HR, and F&A
  • Prepare and post necessary entries to general ledger system
  • Review payroll totals against budget and report on variances
  • Provide data for workers compensation audit

Other Accounting Duties

  • Assist with monthly closing process
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Review and reconcile general ledger detail
  • Prepare and post proper adjusting journal entries
  • Work on special projects, including process documentation
  • Assist with annual audit documentation
  • Assist with annual budget preparation
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate profile

  • Must have 3-5 years of experience with payroll system (ADP preferred)
  • Multi-state payroll experience required
  • Knowledge of payroll best practices as well as related laws and regulations
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, providing requisite payroll, payroll tax, general ledger, and business analysis skills


Associate’s degree or certificate in accounting, payroll administration, or related field

Other skills/abilities

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experienced working in ERP system environment; IFS knowledge a plus
  • Perfectionist by nature, with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent work ethic, including a willingness to work the necessary hours to meet the reporting deadlines of the department
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
