Ty Rhoad named new Regional Director Americas for TOMRA Recycling

TOMRA announces Ty Rhoad as the new Regional Director Americas, taking over for Carlos Manchado Atienza. Offering significant operations and sales experience, Rhoad will lead the sales, service and project management teams in North and South America. He will also engage in business development activities for the company’s optical sorting solutions, helping customers to meet target purity and throughput goals by offering tailor-made solutions across numerous industries, including waste, plastics and metals.

“Ty’s work philosophy and passion for the recycling industry is in perfect alignment with TOMRA’s,” comments Fabrizio Radice, Vice President Global Head of Sales and Marketing for TOMRA Recycling. “He has spent the last 10 years of his career in the waste and recycling industry, leading sales teams and working with key waste and recycling companies. We are convinced that he will fit in with TOMRA professionally and personally to continue expanding our business in the Americas.”

A graduate of the University of Findlay in Ohio, Rhoad is an active member of the Future Industry Leaders Alliance of the National Waste and Recycling Association. His tenure in the waste industry includes working with ONM Environmental Products and Services – a leading company in industrial air quality products, systems, and services – and Rehrig Pacific Company – the industry leader in waste and recycling containers and supply chain solutions. While at Rehrig, he excelled in sales, and most recently led the company’s North American sales team as director of sales. Rhoad’s mission at TOMRA is to help advance the capabilities and overall structure of the current recycling system.

“Over the years, I have developed a passion for recycling and the business. What makes this industry so special is the contacts mature beyond the business relationships into friendships. TOMRA is at the forefront of the circular economy working toward closing the loop, and I see tremendous growth potential for our industry-leading sorting technologies in the Americas,” says Rhoad. “Our sales team offers extensive sorting technology selection and application experience, which allows TOMRA to partner with customers from start to finish with the goal of meeting target purity and throughput rates. Supporting the customer beyond the sale, our service team works directly with customers to ensure the equipment is running at optimized efficiency.”

Rhoad will be based out of TOMRA Recycling’s Charlotte, N.C., North American headquarters. He can be reached at 916-346-0299 or [email protected]
