TOMRA SORTING FOOD’S BLIZZARD SET TO TAKE CALIFORNIA’S FOOD PROCESSING EXPO 2016 BY STORM

17 - 18 February 2016

TOMRA Sorting Food is set to take this year’s Food Processing Expo by storm when it showcases the Blizzard, its newest optical food sorting machine for the individually quick frozen (IQF) vegetable and fruit processing industry.

TOMRA Sorting Food will welcome visitors to Booth 624 at the Sacramento Convention Centre, California, on February 17–18 and share first-hand the many and varied benefits of the innovative Blizzard free-fall pulsed LED camera sorting machine.

Blizzard is the ideal optical food sorting machine for IQF processors, providing a cost effective sorting solution unlike anything currently in the market. It has a small footprint to ensure it fits in processing lines and is specifically designed to optimally fit the output of IQF tunnels or packaging lines.

Blizzard’s unique pulsed LEDs, with different wavelengths and specially designed sensors, ensure reliable detection of color, shape and structural differences as well as dark objects in difficult product mixes. The technology’s continuous inspection removes foreign material, unwanted discolorations and misshapen produce, resulting in enhanced food safety and greater customer satisfaction.

An added advantage of the Blizzard’s LED lighting is its stability and repeatability, as well as a bulb offering a lifetime of over 50,000 hours.

Commenting on the expo, Karel Strubbe, TOMRA Sorting Food’s sales director for Americas and Oceania, says: “Attending this year’s Food Processing Expo allows us to showcase Blizzard’s technology to potential customers from across America and throughout the world. It also enables us to explain its many applications, benefits and, importantly, how it can quickly provide return on investment.

“Accurately sorting good crops from bad is often heavily scrutinized, which reinforces its importance. By employing the Blizzard sorting machine, processors will quickly realize its benefits as it thoroughly sorts produce according to the individual criteria set by its owner.”
