TOMRA completes COMPAC acquisition

We are proud to announce the acquisition of Compac, a New Zealand-based provider of lane sorting solutions for the global fresh produce industry.

08 March 2017

Compac will become a part of the TOMRA family, complementing the sorting offerings with solutions for apples, citrus fruits, kiwifruit, cherries, avocados, stone fruit and many more.

The acquisition has now received the New Zealand Overseas Investment Office’s approval. Part of the acquisition is that Compac Spain will become TOMRA Sorting Food’s exclusive distributor of lane sorting solutions in south east Europe.

Stefan Ranstrand, TOMRA President and CEO, says: “We are very excited to complete this acquisition, as it allows us to offer our expertise and solutions to a wider section of the food sorting industry.”

“Compac has a long and illustrious history in the sorting industry and I’m sure its legacy will continue in its new form while strengthening TOMRA’s presence in key markets. We will continue investing in research and development activities to establish a center of excellence for lane sorting for TOMRA worldwide.”

Compac’s leadership team will remain active in the new structure and its customers will deal with the same sales and service teams. TOMRA Sorting Food will also maintain its existing product portfolio and remain your trusted partner for future growth and optimal customer satisfaction in the global food processing industry.
