Jacob Rognhaug has been promoted from his previous position of Country Manager, Recycling China with the company, which he fulfilled from 2011, and during which time he helped to establish and position TOMRA as a leader in the recycling market. Having built a strong team of marketing, sales and service engineers that now covers sectors such as plastics recycling, municipal solid waste and metals recycling, the team is now geared up for strong growth to meet rising demand.
“With Jacob's broad experience in sales and within the China market generally, it makes perfect sense for him to lead the next phase of TOMRA's further development in China,” commented Stefan Ranstrand, President and CEO of TOMRA.
In addition to taking on the role as Country Manager, China for TOMRA Sorting Technology (Xiamen), Jacob will continue in his leadership role with TOMRA Sorting Recycling, which will maintain its total commitment to the company’s China customers by providing the leading-edge sorting technology now in high demand across China's fast-growth recycling industry.
Jacob takes over the position from Even Rekdal, who will take on a new challenge within TOMRA Collection Solutions operations, based in the Langenfeld office in Germany. Rekdal was based in Xiamen for five years and as the Country Manager, China, was instrumental in building the TOMRA Xiamen presence from the very beginning.
Rekdal will continue to work in China until the end of the second quarter of 2015 to ensure a smooth transfer of executive roles. In particular, Rekdal will lead the local startup R&D effort in China for TOMRA, until a local manager is in place in the second quarter.
“We express our warm gratitude to both Even and Jacob for their outstanding contributions and wish them great success in their new roles,” expressed commented Stefan Ranstrand, President and CEO of TOMRA.
