TOMRA Collection UK opens new London showroom

The showroom features a range of TOMRA's reverse vending machines, from compact to multi-feed solutions

TOMRA has opened a London showroom as the UK prepares to introduce a deposit return scheme (DRS) in less than 2 years.

From October 2027 consumers will pay a refundable deposit on plastic drinks bottles and cans, which they’ll get back from retailers when they return the empty containers.

For more than 50 years, Norway-headquartered TOMRA has been manufacturing cutting-edge reverse vending machines (RVMs) that automate the process of collecting and sorting drinks containers.

These machines are used across the globe, and now TOMRA is giving UK retailers the chance to see them in person at its new showroom in Chiswick, London.

Sondre Henningsgård, TOMRA Collection UK Managing Director, said: “As preparations for the UK’s deposit return scheme gather pace, retailers are exploring solutions that will fit seamlessly in their stores.

“Our technology is tried and trusted in over 60 markets around the world. We have opened this dedicated showroom to give UK retailers the opportunity to see the RVMs, try them out, ask questions, and learn more about the ways that technology can help make recycling quick, easy and efficient for their customers.

On display at the showroom is a range of RVMs suitable for a wide variety of store types and sizes. From the new TOMRA R2 multifeed machine, which accepts a whole bag of containers at once, to the compact TOMRA B5, for retailers with smaller footprints.

“With less than 2 years until the scheme goes live, retailers of all types can find efficient solutions that will create a great recycling experience for their customers - helping to boost footfall and loyalty.”

The showroom is based in The Light Box building in West London.

Visits to the showroom are by appointment. Interested parties should contact the TOMRA team by emailing: [email protected]
