#WeAreTOMRA: Meet Sven-Andre, Operation Manager at TOMRA`s headquarters in Asker

"Sven-Andre can help" is a sentence that is often heard around TOMRA's headquarters; our operations manager, Sven-Andre, is a go-to person for many of us working in Asker. He thrives when it is a bit chaotic, and he can be at service to help solve minor or more significant challenges his colleagues face in their everyday workdays.

Who are you, and what do you do in TOMRA?

I am Sven-Andre, and I live in Asker with my family: my wife and our two kids, who are four and eight years old, and our newest family member, a corgi puppy named Zelda. In TOMRA, I work as the operation manager at the headquarters in Asker, where I have administrative and operational responsibility for maintaining TOMRA's premises, including the outdoor areas. In addition, I am part of a service department, ensuring that everyone in the office has the best possible everyday life at work. I also have administrative tasks like being responsible for the follow-up of service agreements and external suppliers.

What motivated you to apply for a job at TOMRA?

I am from Asker and have always known about TOMRA. As you get older and have kids, you start to think more about how you can contribute to a more sustainable future for them. That was the main reason that I wanted to join TOMRA. I can't make an RVM, but I can help those who do to have fantastic workdays and make it possible for them to do their job even better - and, in that way, I'm part of the chain of contributing in my own way.

What kind of things do you like doing outside of work?

I used to have a lot of hobbies. I have been skiing Telemark for many years and had an interest in cars and motorcycles, but, as I got a family, my priorities changed. Now, I love spending time with them. We live next to the woods, and love spending time outdoors and going hiking in the
weekends.

What is a project you are proud of being a part of?

One project I am proud of is being a part of the more extensive renovation project in the office, where I have really gotten to use my previous experience as an electrician and project manager

How would you describe the culture in TOMRA?

The culture and the people are the best things about working here; it's such a warm and inclusive culture with many different kinds of people. I love that when I walk around the office, I always meet smiles and colleagues who stop to have a chat.
