#WeAreTOMRA: Meet Christian, Mechanical Design Engineer
What is your role at TOMRA and what does a typical day look like for you?
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, I focus on the mechanical design and development of AUTOSORT™ PULSE. My daily work includes creating 3D models, preparing detailed technical drawings, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure our designs meet both technical and production requirements.
It’s a hands-on role that combines technical knowledge with creative problem solving, and I really enjoy seeing how our designs evolve from concept to reality.
What inspired you to join TOMRA?
I joined TOMRA because I want to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable world – not just for us, but for our children and future generations. It feels rewarding to know that the work I do helps make a real difference for the planet.
What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?
When I’m not at work, I like to stay active by playing badminton, enjoy gaming, and follow football – especially cheering on AC Milan. Spending time with my family is also important to me, and it’s a great way to unwind after a busy day at work.
How would you describe the culture at TOMRA?
I felt welcome from day one at TOMRA. Even though everyone is busy, people are always willing to share knowledge, collaborate, and support each other. The culture here is open and inclusive, and being part of such a supportive team makes working at TOMRA enjoyable.
What does diversity mean to you at TOMRA?
Diversity means being part of an inclusive team where everyone feels welcome and valued. As an Indonesian, I truly feel included. Working alongside colleagues from different backgrounds and nationalities makes every project more interesting and helps us develop stronger, more innovative solutions.
